Chewy Chips Ahoy launches unique, resealable packaging.(design trends)

Nabisco soft chocolate chip cookies have a new home. Kraft has introduced new patent-pending Snack 'n Seal technology to its Chewy Chips Ahoy![R] packaging. Snack 'n Seal, a Kraft Foods trademark, utilizes a resealable section in the top of the package that the company says is designed to help keep cookies fresh long after opening and make opening and closing easier.

While Kraft has declined to divulge the details about the package, the cookie bag appears to be similar to a conventional Chewy Chips Ahoy! package from which most of the top has been die-cut away. The cutaway section is then resealed to the top by adhesive-backed clear plastic film that overlaps the cutaway section by about 1/2-in. on the sides and the pull-open end, and an inch on the other...
