StockerYale announced its ongoing commitment to expand its position as a supplier of special optical fiber for optical components in the telecommunications industry.

The company says that their erbium-doped fiber products are regularly used by some of the world's most sophisticated EDFA manufacturers. StockerYale attributes their success in this market to proprietary rare-earth and aluminum dopant delivery methods, which allow for the creation of rare-earth-doped glass that is more homogeneous and more consistent in quality than that made with the solution-doping method utilized by other vendors. StockerYale has implemented unique measurement techniques for the characterization of the amplifying medium and of quenching effects.
