To position itself for an expected worldwide boom in Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector, a division of Motorola Inc. and the largest U.S.-based producer of integrated circuits and discrete semiconductor devices for the merchant market, constructed a $ 325 million, 430,000 square foot complex on its 78-acre site in Chandler, Arizona.

The Chandler-based facility, called CH 2, houses R&D, semiconductor wafer fabrication, and support operations for the company's ASIC Division.
