Holiday paves way for future success Goals of toy department include less reliance on fourth quarter Holiday Companies' complete restructuring of its toy departments is already paying off, even though the program is still in its first year and some fine-tuning remains. Sales are holding their own against heavily increased competition, inventory control has tightened, reflected in the number of turns, and the profit line has improved dramatically for the Bloomington, Minn.-based corporation that includes food (retail and wholesale), general merchandise and service station, and last year grossed $1.5 billion in its 7-state market: Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.
