NEW YORK - After following the stocks of leading leisure products companies, Salomon Brothers' U.S. Equity Research Department has recommended Fisher-Price, Hasbro and Mattel for purchase. "Though by no means critical to survival, little toys and big toys are a precious part of life, coveted by most consumers and claiming a steadily higher share of income," asserts Jill Krutick, Salomon Brothers' Equity Analyst.
"Prospects for industry growth are bright. As strategic alliances are forged, global tentacles extend their reach, and birth rates soar manufacturers will be benefit from an expanding marketplace. Salomon brothers has coded shares of Fisher-Price, Hasbro, and Mattel "O" - expected to "outperform the market."
