Family Fun magazine honors 25 Toys of the Year.

The first annual FamilyFun Magazine T.O.Y. (Toy of the Year) awards honored 25 toys that passed rigorous expert testing -- 2-to-10 year olds across the country who played with them for three weeks before giving their votes. Presentations were made during Toy Fair week at a breakfast in the 200 Club.
Realizing that adults usually tested toys, when it was children who would play with them, Family-Fun distributed 75 new toys to 375 kids in seven Kinder-Care Learning Centers across the country. Under supervised notetakers, children received fair play with each item, checking thoroughly to see just how much fun, how adaptable, and even how breakable each toy was.
