Johanns: U.S., Korea not on 'same planet' on beef.

After South Korea last week rejected a third load of U.S. beef, USDA Secretary Mike Johanns was clearly unhappy. The rejection this time was on pieces of bone found in a shipment that were no bigger than the size of a pea!
"This is a hypertechnical effort to try to find a reason not to accept U.S. beef, and that may be very blunt but it's true," Johanns said with exasperation in a Washington news conference following the latest rejection. "I mean, we're not even on the same planet. That's how far away they are from where we're at, and it doesn't make any sense."
Johanns said he couldn't rule out "anything" relative to what the U.S. might do, including a WTO complaint. But that would take a lot of time.
