Product Design & Development's 10th Annual Engineering Awards were given to three design teams for the conception and manufacture of products that are seen as revolutionary within the industries they serve. This year's award winners cover a range of areas but share the theme of making things easier for the user. One makes it possible for people with physical disabilities to operate a computer without the use of their hands, the second helps to prevent damage to cell phones and other equipment by keeping them from slipping out of the user's hand or sliding off a surface, while the third aids in the assembly of mechanical devices.
