Union Bank of California To Deploy POD System.(NCR's ImageMark image processor)(Company Operations)

Union Bank of California (UBOC) plans to roll out NCR's ImageMark proof-of-deposit (POD) system to its check processing centers in Oakland, San Diego and Monterey Park, Calif., beginning this summer.

The $30 billion bank, based in San Francisco, expects ImageMark to provide cost efficiencies through reduced item passes as well as the ability to offer image statements to retail and wholesale customers.

In the past two years, UBOC has been standardizing on Dayton, Ohio-based NCR's image-based products for its wholesale lockbox operation and for image archiving. The bank has developed a number of image-based products, including CD-ROM and positive pay. It also plans to be able to deliver image statements via the Internet.
