MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill.--Illinois Superconductor Corp. will acquire Lockheed Martin Canada's Adaptive Notch Filtering Business Unit, which will involve the acquisition of 2.5 million shares of common stock. Illinois Superconductor said the Adaptive Notch Filtering unit developed a technology designed to monitor and suppress sources of narrowband interference that can reduce quality and capacity of CDMA-based wireless systems.
"The ANF technology complements our existing high-temperature superconducting technology. ANF targets in-band interference, while HTS is effective against out-of-band interference," said George Calhoun, ISCO's chief executive officer. Under the deal, Lockheed Martin Canada will appoint one member of the ISCO board of directors.
