Vendors demo Web surfing via Bluetooth.

LAS VEGAS--Qualcomm Inc., the Computer Systems Group of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. and Ericsson Microelectronics demonstrated an over-the-air wireless Web surfing application of a Bluetooth-equipped laptop communicating wirelessly with a CDMA handset via a Bluetooth dial-up network at the Comdex show in Las Vegas.

The demonstration used Toshiba's Portege laptop, Qualcomm's MSM3300 Mobile Station Modem chipset and software featuring integrated Bluetooth baseband technology in a CDMA handset and Ericsson Microelectronics' Bluetooth radio technology.
