Lucent pledges $10M to researchers.

MURRAY HILL, N.J.--Lucent Technologies Inc. today pledged $10 million to academic and industry researchers in hopes they could develop a business model that would make third-generation wireless networks more profitable. The grant, part of Lucent's Mobility Innovation Initiative, will be distributed among the School of Management at Boston University, the London Business School and France's INSEAD business school.

Boston University will get $5 million, and the rest will be split between London Business School and INSEAD.
