Asia update; NTT DoCoMo plans corporate bond issue in early March.

RCR Wireless News, March, 2001

TOKYO--NTT DoCoMo, the second-largest mobile carrier in the world, plans to issue 20 billion yen (US$170 million) in corporate bonds as early as next week. It will mark DoCoMo's first corporate bond issue, as well as the biggest amount of corporate bonds to be issued by a company in Japanese history.

According to NTT DoCoMo, the firm is considering issuing both five-year bonds and 10-year bonds. NTT DoCoMo last month issued new shares to raise about 1 trillion yen (US$8.5 billion) to repay debts for its overseas expansion.
