Emblaze to license Windows Media Audio and Video Format.

NEW YORK--Emblaze Systems made an agreement with Microsoft Corp. to license the Windows Media Audio and Video Format using the Emblaze-based solution for video over wireless 2.5-generation and third-generation networks, mobile phones and other low-resource handheld devices. According to the agreement, the companies will also collaborate to develop a customized ASIC chip solution to be implemented on various RISC and DSP architectures allowing audio/video playback operation over low-resource devices.
