Hunan Branch of China Mobile Communications Corp. (Hunan Mobile) awarded Motorola a $213 million supply contract to expand its GSM 900/1800 dual band network in Hunan Province. Network expansion, which includes installation of Motorola's Horizonmacro and Horizonmicro GSM products, will be carried out in two phases.

Phase one, a $154 million operation, will begin in April and be completed by the end of the year; phase two totals $59 million and will begin upon completion of phase one. The expansion will increase its network capacity by 2.8 million subscribers.
