Motion for reconsideration:Following a U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California's summary judgement that Research In Motion Ltd.'s products do not infringe on a Glenayre's Technologies Inc.'s patent.

RCR Wireless News, July, 2001

Following a U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California's summary judgement that Research In Motion Ltd.'s products do not infringe on a Glenayre's Technologies Inc.'s patent, Glenayre said it will request the court grant permission for the company to file a motion for reconsideration.

"We are confident of our position in this matter and hope the U.S. District Court will look favorably upon our request for reconsideration," said Eric Doggett, president and chief executive officer of Glenayre. The original lawsuit alleged RIM products infringed a Glenayre patent covering power supplies in which dual batteries are used to provide different voltages for mobile devices.
