Mobile CRM growth to soar.

As the benefits of GPRS and cdma2000 technologies knock at the door, industry sources expect wireless vendors to scramble for bigger market shares in the customer relation ship management space that is projected by Datamonitor to blossom into a $1.7 billion business. "This figure may be conservative," said Robin Goad, an analyst with Datamonitor who authored the study, "mCRM: why B2C is hype and B2E is the reality for now." He said the business is still immature but it has potential to rake in lots of money.

"In 2001, the global market for mCRM will be worth $118 million, a small fraction of the total CRM market," commented Goad. "Growth over the next four years will be fast." He said the United States will account for 57 percent, Western Europe...
