Nokia announces two major trials The mobile-commerce industry enjoyed a much-needed lift last week after several major companies made significant m-commerce announcements in conjunction with the Mobile Commerce World Europe 2001 conference in London. First on the list was Nokia Corp., which announced a variety of moves aimed at spurring the market for mobile commerce.

The company's announcements come at a time when analysts in recent months have been questioning the potential for mobile commerce as products and services have been slow to market and user adoption sorely lacking. "There's been a flurry of skepticism about the future of mobile commerce," said Cliff Raskind, director of the global wireless practice for Strategy Analytics Inc....
