IEEE approves 802.11g. (Late news).

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers voted last week in favor of 802.llg standard for mobile in-building communications in what is called hot spots. This takes the technology one notch further from the 802.11b, whose speed is much slower than the 802.11g with data rates of 54 megabits per second. 802.lla operates in the 5GHz band.
