The wireless Internet industry continued its swift recalibration last week as wireless application and service provider OmniSky Corp. cast about in an effort to complete some kind of major restructuring, and wireless Web site enabler 2Roam Inc. quietly turned off its lights and exited the business.

The board of directors for privately held 2Roam voted to shut down the company and sell off its assets, a move so quiet that news hadn't yet spread to some of the company's investors.
