Microsoft tries to woo developers with .NET platform. (News).

Software giant Microsoft Corp. further defined its wireless strategy during the company's Mobility Developer Conference, held early last week in London. More than 1,000 developers gathered at the event, which was the first Microsoft-sponsored conference aimed at the wireless developer community.

The software vendor is working to garner support around its wireless initiatives--and most importantly its .NET project. Based on the XML programming language, .NET is Microsoft's overarching strategy to simplify the development of applications and services running on the company's software.
