HALF MOON BAY, Calif.--Volkswagen of America Inc. announced it will begin offering OnStar telematics services in 2003. "Volkswagen Telematics by OnStar" will offer safety, security and convenience features, which the car company said could include automatic notification of air-bag deployment, remote door lock and unlock, stolen vehicle tracking, route guidance and concierge services.
Drivers will also be able to make hands-free cellular phone calls and access personalized Internet-based information and e-mail.
