Lucent wins KTF 1x contract. (Global Wireless).

SEOUL, Korea--Lucent Technologies Inc. will supply third-generation cdma2000 technology to Korean mobile operator KTF. Under the contract, Lucent will upgrade KTF's 2G network in Korea's Kyungsang province to cdma2000 lx technology, which should double voice capacity and enable high-speed data services.

For the upgrade, Lucent will add channel cards and make software upgrades to the existing Lucent-supplied base stations in the province.
