IPass Inc., which does for enterprise what Boingo Inc. is doing for the consumer space, said it rolled out solutions that will allow not only secure access to hot spots but also allow on-campus roaming. The company deploys such technologies as broadband Internet protocol, ISDN and dial-up.
With its IPassConnect 2.3, the company has developed a geographically broader reach for its hot spots and coverage, according to Piero De Paoli, senior product manager for the company. He said IPass has developed what it describes as the generic interface specification it has integrated into IPassConnect 2.3, which interoperates with leading virtual private networks, personal firewalls and other enterprisemandated security systems.
