Huawei, KT to develop infrastructure with Intel technology.(Global Wireless)

Intel Corp. announced Huawei Technologies and Korea Telecom are developing Intel-based modular communications solutions for wireline and wireless network infrastructure. The company said the announcement is part of a trend of telecom equipment manufacturers and service providers moving away from specialized proprietary systems to standards-based platforms.

Intel said its platforms and components are considered building blocks. The company's platforms included Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture, or AdvancedTCA, systems and carrier-grade Rack Mount Servers.
