Teens driving force behind wireless adoption.(Wireless Metrics)

Teens are continuing to drive the adoption of new wireless technologies and services, according to a report by consultancy IDC. The study indicates that 40 percent of 15- to 19-year-olds are wireless subscribers, and these "classic early adopters'' are helping wireless applications such as short message service, gaming and ringtones gain mass-market acceptance.

Young users are also driving uptake of new features such as picture and video messaging, the report said.
