Recently, I noticed a distinct chill in the air that reminded me I need to check out my winter riding gear and get it in shape now, so I'll be ready when it gets cold and stays that way. Usually some fleece under my jacket is sufficient for the foggy chill we experience around the Bay Area, then come the long Johns in addition to the fleece, and when it gets down there, nothing beats electric vests, jacket liners and grips. Electric grips? If you had asked me about these babies a few years ago I would have said something about wimps, but now that I have a pair I'll never go back. Electric grips in this climate are perfect. Hit a foggy patch out on the coast and you are in your summer gloves? Not to worry, turn on them grips and keep riding. Ride out of the foggy patch...
