IBM techexplorer is a plug-in for Web browsers that allows users to have live, interactive mathematics on an HTML and XML based Web page. Version 2.5 supports the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Document Object Model (DOM) API. This API is the tool that allows users to create live and interactive math. techexplorer fully supports the mathematical markup language (MathML) specification, tagging mathematics for content as well as presentation. It enables scientists to exchange problems and solutions either by creating tagged files in techexplorer or writing LaTeX files. Programmable add-ins allow two-way communications between collaborators. A version for Linux Red Hat 5.2 or greater is also available.
