Project FLAME (Foreign Language Applications in Multimedia Environment), a recipient of an IBM Educational Innovation grant at the University of Michigan, is committed to designing and developing a new multimedia environment that uses computers, interactive video and audio for foreign language applications. Two Detroit-area high schools are the project's two main partner schools. Four pedagogical models have emerged in the course of developing multimedia materials for foreign language courses: The Teacher's Partner (TP); The Learner's Partner (LP); The Exploratory Lesson (EL); and The Creative Medium (CM).
