Indiana University launches a model program that effects the continuing education of teachers in remote rural schools by means of an inexpensive audiographic system. The programs are designed to provide training for teachers of troubled or disabled students, and are also intended to provide a forum for enhancing communication between teachers in distance learning situations and their peers. Audiographics is a type of teleconferencing that enables textual and graphical information to be transmitted between computers utilizing standard network software and ordinary telephone service.
