ITU-T holds meeting of Telecommunications for Disaster Relief and Mitigation--Partnership Coordination Panel.(EVENTS)

On May 2, the International Telecommunication Union--Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) held a meeting of the Telecommunications for Disaster Relief and Mitigation--Partnership Coordination Panel (PCPTDR) to review the current situation in the light of recent disasters and increased attention on early warning (EW), and to start planning for a workshop on emergency telecommunications to be held in the second half of 2006.

The PCPTDR is facilitated by the ITU-T and includes representatives of various ITU Sectors and Study Groups, other standards development organizations (SDOs), intergovernmental agencies and relief organizations.
