Crown Media's Kermit Channel will be killed off in Asia from the beginning of November and the former satellite channel reduced to two three-hour kids' programming blocks a day on sister Hallmark channel. The move was scheduled to take effect on November 1, and is part of the general overhaul of Crown Media Holdings Inc's Hallmark Entertainment Network.

Kermit programming that has made it into the frog's next branded incarnation in Asia includes Open Sesame, Mopatop's Shop and The Wubb World of Dr Seuss. The company line is that it makes more sense to combine programming strengths into one channel targeting a broader audience base. The Kermit Channel will, however, continue to air in India, where it is distributed by Modi Entertainment...
