Television Asia, November, 2001

Sony Entertainment Television (SET)'s US$17-million deal with World Tel for rights to international cricket played in Bangladesh is on the rocks. World Tel, which represents the Bangladesh Cricket Board, is taking legal action over SET's alleged attempts to renegotiate the November 2000 agreement.

SET says no binding contract was signed. SET, which secured the rights for US$12 million plus a US$5 million fee for the TV signal production, aired the inaugural test between India and Bangladesh in November last year.
