The STAR Group splits its English-language STAR World satellite service into two from May 5. One will serve India only. The second will cover Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and the Middle East. The India feed launches a two-hour Sunday night band on May 5, featuring shows such as UK sitcom, Kumars at No.
42 and interview show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. STAR's latest move comes a month after the group launched its 24-hour Hindi-language STAR News service and just more than two months ahead of India's July 14 conditional access deadline. This further underlines STAR's increasing commitment to keeping its India-focused content at the top of viewers' schedules.
