Hong Kong's Broadcasting Authority (BA) has agreed to push back the "three-milestone" performance deadline for joint-venture digital satellite platform, Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting Limited, to February 23, 2004. The original deadline was August 23, 2003. The milestones require Galaxy to provide not fewer than 24 television programme service channels to not fewer than 150,000 premises and to have incurred not less than US$15.6 million capital expenditure.

In approving the deadline extension in mid-July, the BA said the delay in finalising the shareholding of the digital satellite platform had been taken into account.
