NOW Broadband TV scored more than a programming coup in Hong Kong when it signed up exclusive rights for Asia's top two regional sports channels--ESPN and Star Sports. What the Pacific Century CyberWorks-owned service also did with the deal, which kicks in on August 17 this year, was stake a claim for telco-owned IPTV platforms everywhere.

After a few false starts over the years, there's no longer any doubt that the technology works and that people will open their doors to installation teams (especially when it's all being offered free of charge). And now that high-value programmers are willing to take the chance (even though there must be some pretty strong dollar incentives and/or guarantees), the game gets really exciting.
