Hong Kong Cable numbers up 55%.(Asia's television industry is talking about ...)(I-Cable Communications)(Brief Article)

i-Cable Communications, the operator of Hong Kong's dominant pay-TV platform, has reported a net profit increase of 55% to US$19 million for the six months to 30 June 2004. Turnover increased by 11% to US$148 million. TV subscribers grew 9% year-on-year to 682,000. ARPU increased to US$28.5 (2003: US$28).

Operating profit increased by 12% to US$30 million. Broadband subscribers grew by 7% to 263,000; internet and multimedia ARPU increased by 14% to US$18 and operating loss narrowed to US$3.5 million (2003: US$6.2 million).
