Caption: The US-based International Channel, which has upped its focus on Asian American audiences, has signed licensing agreements with Korean film distributor Mirovision for nine Korean films and Central Park Media for seven anime titles. The new programming will air on Asia Street, the prime-time block scheduled for a young, English-speaking, Asian American audience. The programmes will also be part of the channel's On Demand package. International Channel Networks' managing director, Steve Smith, said the latest deal would allow the International Channel to capitalise on the growing popularity of Korean cinema and to expand the channel's anime offerings. The Korean films, including Byul and The Show, will be subtitled in English.
