i-Cable Communications Ltd, which operates Hong Kong's dominant pay-TV platform, has reported a 29% increase in profits for 2004 and an increase of 7% in pay-TV subscribers to 702,000. Net profit rose to US$36.4 million, from US$28 million for the previous year. ARPU was up by 2% to US$29.

Broadband subscription numbers were up 13% to 291,000 and operating loss narrowed from US$11 million in 2003 to US$5.6 million in 2004.
