SVP Alliance has announced six new official licensees of SVP technology. They are Broadcom, Conexant, Humax Pace, Samsung, and Thomson. Chipset manufacturer, Broadcom, will begin shipping SVP-compliant chips in volume this year. It is claimed that the chips provide a high level of security for content that moves constantly from device to device.

Additionally, Pace and Samsung will be the first device manufacturers to produce next generation set top boxes with SVP-ready chips implemented into the design. Apart from the licensees, SCP Alliance also announced signing on six new members, bringing the total membership to 35. The new members are Advanced Digital Broadcast, Chips&Media, Homecast, Kaon-Media, Mediatek, and Prime Electronics and Satellitics.
