Japan -- The beta version of a new Japanese-language Social Networking Service (SNS) was jointly launched by News Corporation's My Space and Softbank Corporation on 7 November 2006 in Tokyo by Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corporation, and Masayoshi Son, CEO of Softbank. The 50-50 joint venture, My Space Japan KK, is headquartered in Tokyo with initial capital of Yen 590 million (US$5 million) and is headed by Softbank's Makoto Koyama.
My Space Japan's Board of Directors includes Peter Chernin, President and COO of News Corporation, Chris DeWolfe, CEO of My Space, and Ross Levinsohn, President of Fox Interactive Media.
