Jones Bros. Dirt and Paving, Inc. of Odessa has begun a $7.7-million reconstruction on a 14-mile stretch of Interstate 20 between the Pecos River and FM 869 west of Pecos. The contractor will mill out the 11-foot-wide driving lane and inlay a "Superpave" hot mix in the rutted areas between the Pecos River and the US 285 intersection and west of Pecos from the Business 20 exit to FM 869. To better withstand heavy truck traffic, the final phase will feature a 2-inch full-width "Superpave" overlay the entire length of the project.
