Virgin Atlantic Airways has filed an antitrust suit against British Airways (BA), charging the carrier used dirty tricks to damage Virgin's transatlantic services. The case could cost BA $975 million and severely damage their international reputation.

THE last time British Airways faced an antitrust suit in America, the plaintiff was Sir Freddie Laker. He led BA a not-so-merry dance for three years before taking a pay-off of Pounds 8m ($10m) in 1985. Now he lives in the Bahamas where he runs a small charter airline.
