Walt Disney Co has announced a $19 billion takeover of Capital Cities ABC Inc. The merger of the two organization seems a logical move to many observers, as it will enable Disney to have a greater global strategy and will merge ABC and the Disney Channel.

THOMAS MURPHY, boss of Capital Cities/-ABC, and Warren Buffett, the firm's biggest shareholder, have long wanted to make it in the movies. After cameo appearances in "All My Children", a popular ABC soap, the pair are now getting their big break. On July 31st, Walt Disney caught the market by surprise when it announced an agreed takeover of Capital Cities/ABC for $19 billion in cash and shares. The deal, which puts a 27% premium on Capital Cities/-ABC's pre-bid share price, is America's second-largest merger ever....
