Kaleida Labs has team up with Motorola and Scientific-Atlanta to develop open-architecture hardware and software for future interactive and multimedia services, including shopping, information, education and entertainment for both single and multiple users.

California-based Kaleida is a joint venture of Apple Computer and IBM. It will offer ScriptX, a multimedia language and specification set, as part of a package with Scientific-Atlanta terminal and network hardware and Motorola microprocessors. ScriptX remains under development, according to the lab. When the lab announced development of the language last fall, several software creators agreed to support it.
