Both Grass Valley Group and GTE Spacenet will undergo corporate reorganizations, includiing the layoff of hundreds of employes. GTE Spacenet plans to lay off 350 workers, a third of its total work force. Grass Valley has not determined how many jobs will be lost, but is appears to be more than 100.

Both companies are combining divisions, saying that will reduce duplication in their sales and marketing departments.
