Detroit area broadcasting last week celebrated a Supreme Court decision not to review a case challenging the FCC's authority to determine acceptance levels of radio interference. The courd decided against hearing an appeal of a lower court decision that interference complaints fall within the FCC's jurisdiction.

Petitioners in the case, group of suburban Detroit residents living near a radio toweer, filed a suit claiming that radio signals were interfering with garage-door openers and other home electronics.
