Meredith Corp. is purchasing Cook Inlet's WSMV-TV Nashville for $159 million. Sale price is a combination of cash and debt. The station will remain an NBC affiliate, according to Craig Maltby, Meredith's manager of public relations. Cook Inlet was rumored to have been close to a deal with New World and Bert Ellis on two separate occasions.
Meredith also owns TV stations in Orlando, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Phoenix and Flint, Mich.
