There were no runaway hits on the scale of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers among this season's debuting kids shows, but new strips from Saban and Disney found a strong audience response as the storm clouds of increased competition from the new UPN and WB networks loomed.

Buena Vista Television's Aladdin earned a 5.5 gross average audience Nielsen children's 2-11 rating from the beginning of the season through Dec. 11, 1994, while Saban's V.R. Troopers liveaction follow-up to its Mighty Morphin Power Rangers hit earned a 5.0. The Saban show skewed more strongly to boys and the Buena Vista show to girls.
