National Association of Broadcasters President Eddie Fritts last week rebuked FCC Chairman Reed Hundt for his continuing insistence on an FCC role requiring TV stations to air a minimum amount of educational children's programing each week. "Hundt is clearly espousing a government-imposed quota system...to further a personal agenda," Fritts said in an interview following Hundt's NAB convention speech.

"He seems interested only in controlling content." Fritts saw as a threat Hundt's apparent reluctance to fully embrace the industry-endorsed Grand Alliance system as the national standard for digital broadcasting.
